2026-2027 New Age Group Alignment Explanation:

Due to the new USYS Age Group alignments, FC Pittsburgh will follow the new birth-year changes when forming teams for the 26-27-year age group and in the future.

What this means is that players may fall into a new age range, with some moving up and some staying at the more current age designation and game model (7 v 7,9 v 9,. and 11 v 11):

FC Pittsburgh is committed to always putting our players' best interests first. At times, this means realigning teams, as with this new birth range mandate.

2026-27 Tryout and Offer Process:

All interested players should attend as many of our tryouts as possible. This will allow our staff to evaluate each individual to the greatest possible extent, in context, to determine which team a player will be best served on.

Returning players will be considered for a spot on a team based on coaches input and past experience. This may or may not be with the same coach and cohort of players as in previous years, as determined by the new age-group alignments and coaches' input on placements.

Some players may move "up"; others may stay on the same team; some may be affected by remaining in their current game model, and some may advance to higher game models.

We ask and expect all players and families to work with us through this process and to continue to trust in our decision-making in the best interest of their players' development.

Our coaching and leadership staff is communicating daily about "best practices" and is committed to keeping each individual player's long-term growth and success at the forefront of our process.
